Charles Rogers, MS, OTR/L, LMT

Hello and welcome to Rogers Hands-on Therapy. My name is Charles Rogers (MS, OTR/L, LMT) and I am a bodywork healer and patient-centered specialist. I help active adults reclaim vitality lost from challenging jobs, demanding lifestyles, and chronic conditions. Through my time-tested techniques, clients walk away feeling relieved from pain, energized, and functioning optimally. We work together to bring your personal health goals to life through the integration of mind, body, and spirit.

This is my deepest passion, and it all began in a big box retail store.

I found myself miserable and lost in my 20s, showing up every day as a retail manager. Having suffered from anxiety and panic attacks as a teenager, this career required me to speak every day in front of associates and the public and, ultimately, led me to dread my daily work experience. My anxiety and panic attacks grew over the course of 7 years in the job.

This work drained me and left me exhausted. How could I help anyone in this state?

As I watched colleagues be promoted who were directly aggressive and disrespectful to the other employees, I felt completely discouraged. In this company, success was only defined by numbers and results, instead of relationship-building and kindness. It was this unhappiness that compelled me to search for a rewarding career with meaning where I could actually help people.

While my family line is filled with doctors and nurses, I was more inspired by the hands-on approach to physical rehabilitation sciences. After much thoughtful consideration, my career change centered on either occupational or massage therapy. Having suffered from various injuries as a competitive runner and rehabbed myself, this felt like a good fit. I was particularly attracted to occupational therapy (OT), mainly due to its core founding principles of a client-centered holistic approach to health improvement. I put in applications for both massage and OT school programs, and I was accepted into OT school first, so I entered into my Master's education with great hope.

Over the next 20 years as an OT, I gained clinical skills across both acute and subacute in-patient rehabilitation settings. However, I watched my patients who were suffering and compromised hit plateaus and wanted to know how I could help them better over a longer period, especially once they left the facility.

I grew a deep yearning for training in Eastern-based therapies that take into consideration the delicate interplay of mind/body/spirit dynamics. From seeing thousands of patients, I recognized that true health lies in creating an energetic balance of the three. A pull to create a better long-term solution for healing led me to seek Reiki training, where after 2 years, I earned my Master/Teacher certification status. My training coincided with my wife becoming sick with chronic migraines, and I watched in amazement as this profound technique that has been around for centuries would alleviate her symptoms of pain and greatly diminish her suffering. The power of touch and intention can be such a powerful elixir to return the mind/body/spirit to vitality!

Now with the combined experience of OT and Reiki, I found myself returning to that original pull I felt in my 20s and knew the third tool to round out my offering would be massage therapy. This would complete my hands-on skills and provide me the ability to fully address my clients' and patients' health needs.

I am so honored and delighted to offer you a healing hands-on experience that is meaningful and long-term. The magical and deeply effective combination of OT, Reiki, and massage therapy allow me to meet you wherever you are, and create a plan you have been waiting for and deeply deserve.

I bring together decades of clinical experience, working with patients at every level of rehabilitation, energy medicine, and a deep knowledge of the body. Whether you are dealing with physical and/or emotional challenges from an injury, chronic condition, emotional hardship, constant stress, or muscular restriction, we will work together to return your whole being to balance.

All of this is through the power of hands-on therapy. Thank you so much for being here. Healing is a courageous journey and I celebrate you. I look forward to working together.
